I am interested in installing strobes on the Stinson but wonder if it's a good idea or not.

Is field approval good enough or do I need an STC?

Is it possible to install the strobes without tearing into the fabric?

Where would be the best place for mounting the power supply in a fabric/wood framed a/c?

Would any changes need to be made to the existing nav light system?

Would such installation negatively affect the value of this 1945 warbird?

How easy/difficult would it be to mount either a rotating beacon or a strobe on top of the vertical fin which is made of fabric covered wood panels? Currently, there is nothing up there.

Sorry for the delay, server troubles.

Thanks, I'll look into the STC. I still suspect field approval would be good enough. Anything on the other questions or need additional info?

Field approvals are a thing of the past, if there is an stc'd installation get it.

Maybe the FAA man will jump in here.
