One of my friends from college posted some pictures on bookface from his time in the Guard flying CH47's:

I asked if he could log PIC for the Chinook and the Apache, and he informed me he had A-10 time as well:

Thought you guys would enjoy the pictures. The Chinook is a hell of a flying machine.

I agree. I would love to have been in the room when they were talking about limitations of single rotor helios and someone piped up “why don’t we just add another main rotor??”

I got a quick ride in the left seat while doing fam flight in the Army’s test pilot school and some time in the back as a pax, the thing is just a beast...fastest helicopter in the Army inventory. Whenever we did escort missions were always had to ask them to slow down or get a few min head start...

I was working in the shed one day and heard a helicopter in the distance. Not unusual as Arch medical flies over multiple times a day, and we occasionally see Blackhawks. It kept getting louder and louder, and when the ground started to shake i decided to go out and see what the hell was going on. I stepped out to experience (and I choose that word carefully) a flight of 2 ch47s fly i maybe 100agl directly over my house. It was a borderline religious experience. The rotor wash, the SOUND, the smell of turbine exhaust. Awesome.

Love the ****hook. Most comfy helicopter I've ever had the pleasure of flying in the back of.

You should move here. ANG has a fleet of them. If you ever hear the "Biggie" callsign in Central IL it is a Chinook.

Coming home from Chicago a few weeks ago I had a Chinook as my "wingman." We were about the same speed and followed each other home.
