Robert "Rosie" Rosenthal, passed away at the age of 89. Rosie was a ledgend in the 100th Bomb Group. I think he flew 3 tours and was shot down twice. He went out on a mission with 12 other b-17's early in his career and he was the only one to return home. Flew home with two engines out and lost another on the roll out, with major wing damage to boot.
The guy was just a flat out pilots pilot.
