Another fatal in Colorado, but...

Not that this has anything to do with the cause but earlier reports said it was a Piper Super Cruiser. The U.S Forest Service would not allow a P-12 for low level work. A 182 was about minimum with turbo preferred with an experience mountain pilot flying. State and county have few requirements and consequently have more trouble. They will also fly without an observer. Many times State or county would offer recon flights but we'd have to turn them down for quals on the plane and or pilot.
 
Two more casualties in our obsessive war against a plant. Very sad.

If the report on the A/C type was accurate, two pax in a low powered plane in the mountains isn't a good idea. Wrong plane for the mission.
