Pre-takeoff checklist
I like the animated smilies, avatars and other stuff on this site. Once. After the second repetition, it's not fun anymore. By the time I've looked at a page for a couple of minutes, the constant motion is moderately annoying. Question: is there an easy way to make animations stop after repeating twice or some other specified number? If not, perhaps a way to turn them on/off? I've looked here: http://www.pilotsofamerica.com/forum/profile.php?do=editoptions and found "Thread Display Options" would be one way to go, but it would prevent me seeing these images at all. I do enjoy one repeat of most, and want it to stop after that. In case there's no option here, I'll use the Firefox feature to do it: go to "about:config" and type "anim" into the "Filter" box, double-click the "image.animation_mode" and type "once" (without the quotes of course) into the dialog box. Sadly, "twice" doesn't work, and I have to set it back to "normal" in order to see some wx map animations. Another option I'm considering is clicking the "I" icon to turn off images using QuickJava https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1237/ but either of these methods requires reloading the page to stop the animations. Turning off images of course also prevents me from seeing any still images people have shared. Other ideas welcome. Thanks again for a great aviation resource!
