Andriod spam

I have a smart phone on which I receive e-mails. My server is SBC through Yahoo.
I get a lot of spam on my Android phone that has been blocked on Yahoo; that is, it doesn't get to Outlook, it's put in a spam file on the server and I don't see it in my Outlook e-mails. Yet, it comes through to my Android "smart" phone and today was particularly bad. Over 20 junk mails I had to scroll through first thing this morning.
So, why is this getting to my Android phone and not my Outlook account? Outlook also blocks spam, but this is blocked on the server.
Anything I can do?

...there is a setting in Yahoo Mail to not send spam emails when POP'd. The setting is under:

- Options
- More Options
- POP and Forwarding
Set the option "When POP'ing my messages" to "don't POP spam".

It isn't just Androids....I experience the exact same thing with my blackberry and my email provider is through AOL.

Thanks. I have those settings in already. I couldn't get the second link to work. It says to try later.
