Completed the final home-leg of the Las Vegas trip about an hour or so ago. Tons of pics and a long write-up to come. Working on posting it to our website.

Rough overview of the trip: Flight down started late, put us at the plateaus mid afternoon, stopped twice enroute to settle our stomachs. Once we got to Vegas, it was a great experience. Learned many things to make our next trip better. Flight home resulted in an overnight in ABQ last night with more diversions for weather today. IR saved the day! So sweet to be able to check weather, evaluate things, file, and fly away!

Total flight time: 17.5hrs.
Total Actual IR: 4.8hrs.

Pics and full write-up to come as soon as we wind down. :)

Cool. Is this now your longest trip?

DEFINITELY so.. Longest trip to this point was 3hrs to Alabama or 3hrs to Oshkosh. I pretty much blew my record out of the water!

Glad to hear you had a nice trip, can't wait to read about it! :)

fantastic Chris, I was sure wishing you woulda filed a little more...kinda hard to follow you on flight aware otherwise ;) Glad you got the actual in and I look forward to hearing more about it.

Sounds great, Chris! I may pick your brain at the Glide-a-Thon, because Leslie and I may do GA to a conference she has in San Diego. Only problem is, it's the first weekend of AirVenture! OTOH, actually flying, especially a trip like this, is better (mostly) than just talking about flying any day. LOL!

Ha.. Sorry to disappoint you.

On the way there, I didn't want to file just in case we decided we wanted to stop for no real reason, it wouldn't be much of a hassle. Plus, there wasn't a cloud in sight until we got to Las Vegas, NM.

On the other hand, on the way home we were ready to punch through and get back. It's funny -- we were in the DESERT and it was raining for two days straight. *sigh* Figures..

No problem! I'm more than willing to share the few tidbits I learned on this trip. I'm definitely not a pro at flying through the area, but I know a LOT more now than before we headed out last Sunday!

Nice Chris! You're only 0.1 shy of my longest trip (Madison, WI -> Houston, TX). That's a lotta actual too! Looking forward to the full writeup.

Very nice write up and pictures, Chris. I love it!

Love the romantic dinner at Waffle House too. :D

fantastic Chris, glad you, and Rachel, had a wonderful trip. Whats this 'Radiation Turbulence' you speak of? ;)
