Your world, if you choose a career with us, will be the same.The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company currently has an opening for an Assistant Ground Crew Chief at its' Airship Operations Base in Pompano Beach, Florida.Goodyear is the world's largest tire company, manufacturing and marketing tires for most applications. It also manufactures and markets several lines of power transmission belts, hose and other rubber products for the transportation industry and various industrial and consumer markets. Goodyear is one of the world's largest operator of commercial truck service and tire retreading centers. In addition, it operates about 1,700 tire and auto service center outlets. Goodyear manufactures its products in more than 90 facilities in 28 countries, producing more than 200 million tires annually. It has marketing operations in almost every country around the world. Goodyear's 2004 net sales totaled more than $18 billion.Content:Supervises all daily activities of non-exempt operations personnel which include: Mechanics, Technicians, Riggers, Administrative Assistant, Crew and temporary positions (16 direct) and base maintenance personnel (2 indirect), through subordinates, to ensure completion of assigned projects which will result in the safe operation and maintenance of the airship.Directs airship preparation for flight: takeoffs/landings, ground handling and masting operations. Develops and maintains schedules (flight operations, maintenance of GSE (Ground Service Equipment), daily work, vacation and holiday, pressure watch (tending airship), refueling and general maintenance. Plans, assigns work and works mast handling areas which include: expeditionary and heavy mobile masts. Drives ground service equipment (GSE) bus, trucks, service van and car.Tends airship (pressure watch) in rotation with other non-exempt personnel in order maintain a safe masting condition including: Security, proper trim, pressure and ballasting and cleanliness of both airship and GSE. Of particular importance and necessity are the public affairs aspects of the assignment which include personal appearance and attitude toward various publics (VIP's, media and general public) in answering questions and providing information which reflect the company in a positive and favorable manner.PHYSICAL:Accomplishes any of the above-listed activities as follow: Standing, walking and running - lifting, pulling and carrying weights in excess of 100 lbs. - climbing, stooping, couching, kneeling, crawling, reaching or working in elevated positions.
