I've searched to no avail. Is there a source to decode the AN specifications for screws? For example: AN526C632-6 or AN515-6-6 (these specifications from the Ercoupe parts manuals). It seems like the first group of numbers is the head style, the second group the thread (#6, 32 pitch?) and the last length in 16ths? John

I think these are machine screws, Capt. G. (I only see 'bolts' in your pdf - ah yes useful for the decoding)
John - check out aircraft spruce, they used to have some charts with it all broken down.

Thanks for the replies. The tip about the A&P pocket guide led me to check AC43.13-1B and it describes the various screws on pg. 7-294 and depicts them in table 7-11 on pg. 7-341. John

The Standard Aircraft Handbook, I linked to above, gives you part number break down for most of the common hardware. Its a bit more detailed than the AC43.13. Pretty handy to have if you're an aspiring A&P, or even just an aircraft owner.
