I'm on the fence about replacing my Cessna shoulder harness with a BAS or the latest AmSafe airbag seat belt. Has anyone installed the new AmSafe SOARS airbag seat belts? I understand the AML for the STC includes over 500 aircraft (STC SA02503AK ). At $2580 for both front seats it is cheaper than their older models which were tailored for only certain aircraft models. That price puts it $1000 more than BAS, but with the airbag it is arguably safer.
I understand maintenance is easier since it has a built-in test module. There are mandatory replacements of parts in ten years which will cost roughly $1000 at today's prices.
