Amazon Air asks about Denton airport

Congratulations ! You have been awarded traffic jams from here to eternity.

Not to mention the Chinese flight students....

When will they import the drones for delivery service?

Not going to happen without a lot of runway and airport construction.

Runway 18/36
Dimensions: 7002 x 150 ft. / 2134 x 46 m
Surface: asphalt, in fair condition
Weight bearing capacity:
Single wheel: 70.0
Double wheel: 100.0

Even a 757 weighs over 250,000 lbs at gross

That's what taxpayers are for. Pay yo taxes, city expands airport to accommodate and entice the Amazon gorilla for all them jobs. Collect taxes from all those new employees.

Big businesses don't pay taxes for ten years, after they move in.
That's how things work.
Give them huge tax breaks, then they threaten to pull out if you don''t give them more tax breaks.

“Amazon Air” is really just one or more of the ACMI cargo outfits (Atlas, Kalitta, ATI, etc). Not sure which one is providing the lift these days, though.

Amazonians, of course.

As a resident of ILN I can assure you ABX and ATI (two of the big Amazon carriers) hire the stereotypical grizzled "freight dogs," not Chinese flight students.

All of the above + ABX AFAIK.

ATI Branded-cert'd , but it is all Atlas, including most of the supplemental lift from Polar, Atlas, and Titan.

Rumor is that they will end up with Kalitta, before the year is out, too.

Considering they own a decent chunk of ATSG (ATI/ABX holding company) stock, they'd only be screwing themselves to give it all to just kalitta, atlas, or anyone. Besides, their whole business plan so far seems to be "whipsaw."

There is a logic, but a lot of it has to do with airframe availability right now. There is a reason that Boeing is looking at reopening the 767-300F line.

It hasn’t closed. FedEx and UPS still have aircraft being delivered.
