Doesn't seem to be any real motive. She was obviously engrossed in her overseas experience and foreign boyfriend and I don't think she needed to add rapey threesomes and murder to her life to get a bigger high. This is just bad police work and reporting through-and-through with the sad side-effect of having robbed Meredith of the justice and attention she deserved.

Who knows but it is certainly a good lesson on the consequences of the friends you chose to hang out with.
 
The only people who had any positive outcome in this case was the lawyers.

Court costs in the millions.

- drugs and alcohol are not your friend
- when abroad, know your Vienna convention rights and understand that criminal process works in a very different way

Well, someone from the Ivory Coast is serving a 16 year sentence in prison after being convicted of raping and killing the girl.

And yes I believe that Amanda was swept up in the foreign experience thing and choose wrong people to do drugs with.
