Alaskas Ultimate Bush Pilots

Kodiak is a really beautiful place to fly, and presents its own (and very particular) set of challenges. Although like most TV, this is pure drama.

Well, not quite bush flying, but my company, SkyWest, Airlines, just started flights to the "Land of the Midnight Sun" with the launch of our new Delta flights from Seattle (SEA) to Ketchikan (KTN) and Sitka (SIT), Alaska. Flights from Seattle to Juneau (JNU) will begin in September. Hopefully at some point I'll get to bid some of those trips and get to see some of Alaska.

The company I am currently flying for here in Alaska may start doing floats next year. I may have to finally get a float rating. Still, nothing like landing on a slanted beach instead of a runway.

Getting back in a C-206 and learning to fly final under 50 indicated and land in 500 feet was interesting though.
