Two friends have started their latest flying adventure, flying from Tucson to Northern Alaska, and then across Northern Canada and down to OSH. They are flying a 172. It's a "shakedown flight" for a trip to Panama/S.America next year. A couple years ago, they flew 2 CT's (Light Sport) from Tucson to Point Barrow and back.
Here's their SPOT track. I'll post a link to their ongoing story, with pics, once I get it.

It looks like they are going to post info about the trip here...

Looks like they've had great weather... SPOT hasn't missed a beat

Good luck to them. Alaska is always a great flight.

They were stuck in Dawson City for a couple of days, due to weather and low clouds. Good spot to be stuck, plenty to do and see. But they're back in the air... Fairbanks today?
Wrong, it looks like they're heading to Northern Yukon, and/or a visit with Sue at Kavik.
Wrong again, they've veered NE and are DEEP into the NW Territories. North of the Arctic Circle! What a trip.
