I guess with all of the recent news concerning aircraft security, the FAA a little more focused on this topic of late. They just released a draft for a new AC 119-ANSP - Airworthiness and Operational Approval of Aircraft Network Security Program

Notice the statement "New aircraft designs use TCP/IP technology in a manner that virtually makes the aircraft an airborne interconnected network domain server". This is another way of saying "come and get it".This AC is essential due to technologies in modern aircraft that may be vulnerable to threats common to IT platforms. Previously, aircraft designers used ARINC 429/629 or MIL-STD data buses to interconnect flight-critical avionics. TCP/IP were used only to support passenger information and entertainment systems. New aircraft designs use TCP/IP technology in a manner that virtually makes the aircraft an airborne interconnected network domain server.
