AirTag on keys at shop

I have an AirTag on my plane’s key, in case I lose it while on a trip. I’m wondering if I should remove the AirTag before delivering my plane to a maintenance shop.

The reason is that I learned* that an AirTag emits noises when it’s not near the phone it’s paired with. Maybe it would annoy the shop technicians.

* The way I discovered this is that our dog wears an AirTag on its collar, and it makes noises that disturb the dog when the dog’s owner (whose phone is paired to the AirTag) is out of town.

AirTags have an unwanted tracking warning. If somebody slips an airtag into your bag and their phone isn’t around, it pings to alert you that it’s there. That feature has pros and cons. Take the airtag off your keys.
