I see Google Earth removed it's airports layer some time ago.
Is there a way to import an FAA or other airport location file into Google Earth?
My searches haven't revealed a procedure.

You can just look up the airport by name.

I just use http://vfrmap.com/ when I want to find somewhere.

Pop on the street map if charts make your eyes bleed after a while. It has pretty much everything, VFR, high/low IFR, streets, etc.

Most airports are in there by identifier that you can search by. I usually include "airport" after the ID in the search so I don't get some random European zip codes or whatever.
