Airport Progress

Great news for PWM.

But after traveling home almost every year for the last 30 years, it's still cheaper to fly into BOS and drive up. Airfare into PWM is just to $$$.

I've got round trip nonstop flights between LAS and BOS for $320 each. Going into PWM was almost twice that.

That situation could be "in the changing." But the timing is in reference to that merger which occurred some time last year. Was it Southwest Air and ??? Whatever, one of them flies into Portland and the expectation was that PWM could come into direct competition with Manchester, etc., but that it would be a year or more before those merger generated changes would affect flight prices. Or was it U. S. Air and ???

I did not check this year. In previous years trying to use MHT would always require an overnight on landing, and an overnight leaving. The flight times were so messed up and in the dark of night to make sense traveling any where by car.

I have used PVD in the past, it's only an hour south of the daughter in Quincy.
