Ah yes, the days of cheap gas and no worries about pollution. In the '50s and '60s they used lines of jet engines to do the same thing.

I wonder how much dry ice they need in this new system?

Ever notice that a heavy aircraft does a great job of dispersal? I railfan and last month near College Park Airport (in fact about 200ft away from it) two trains sped past and got the area cleared up. Fog was to the point that by the time I saw the trains I barely had enough time to record them. After, I could see the about 2000ft along the tracks and the final approach was a bit clear. Lots of fast moving air does the trick for a bit.

Nothing like a 757 at KDCA on a foggy November morning!
