Was just watching Twilight Zone episodes and listening to an interview with the producer of this episode. Apparently it was shot on the MGM set where they actually had a real airplane.

So I am wondering if anyone knows what type this was?

One can see a fair portion of the setup in this clip on YouTube.

Not sure of the airplane type, but I still remember when I first saw this episode when I was a kid. I have never seen it since till now, but have thought of it many times. The effect TV had on a child back in the 50’s, both good and bad should never be underestimated. I’ve not seen any of the TWILIGHT ZONES reruns, but still remember many episodes. Of course I’ll always blame SKY KING for my love of flying and 310’s, but never cared for the Bamboo Bomber, Kirby Grants original plane. Sorry for the reminiscing.

I found one error already. They misidentify an FW 149D as a Navion.
