Really hate to resurrect that topic again, but...

So what is coming to your TV screen in coming weeks and months?

A "super size" episode is on tap, and Savage says he will attempt to start an avalanche near the Telluride ski resort with nothing more than his pitch-perfect yodel. They will also try to drive a car up a ramp and in to a semi-truck at 65 miles an hour, like you might have seen in the 1980s TV series Knight Rider.

Savage says he hopes to test the theory that a plane could take off by being placed on a giant tread-mill, rather than a long runway. Hyneman says the ultimate myth would be to build a rocket and fly to the moon, just to prove that humans "really can go there."

Do the MythBusters think they will ever run out of myths to bust?

"As long as people keep thinking up stupid things, I don't think we'll run out," Savage said.

We should get them to do the task at the Gastons fly in.....

We were robbed on this one!

Another fart-myth that never aired on Discovery involved build team member Kari Byron wearing a pair of special "fart detector" panties, in an attempt to disprove the myth that "girls never fart." The panties were lined with a microphone and special flatus detector. (In case you're wondering, the myth was busted).

hmmm i wonder if they need a pilot

doesn't matter what the outcome is guys. Those who believe its possible will say they didn't do it right.

There are very few that will say it's NOT POSSIBLE. I still don't see how they can't see the basic physics behind the fact that the prop grabs onto the air and moves itself forward in relation to the entire world. The wheels spin faster but that's all. You couldn't possibly spin those wheels fast enough to stop the airplane without them starting on fire. Of course you won't ever see this and when you do you'll say they did it wrong.

Not sure why I even try to explain.

They should be able to test this with a scale (model) setup, right? Physics apply to the small model the same as the large.

Sure but SOME nimrod will say, "Oh but its not the same with a model as it is with the real thing!"

Sure, but the myth busters will do it with a model and then do it with a real plane... since they always like making a bigger bang (ok so it won't go bang).

Missa

It won't go bang unless they touch the brakes while the 'treadmill' is running.... :)
