Airliner/Drone near miss

It was another dramatic news item on ABC this morning. They mentioned that it was announced during a FAA conference on DRONES. It makes me suspicious that we didn't hear about this in MARCH when it supposedly occurred. The FAA has been dragging their feet on any rules regarding DRONES in the NAS and this just gives them more leverage to nail the coffin shut and slam all those commercial ventures.
I don't particularly like the idea of non pilot aircraft but operating IN the NAS would be a whole lot better than getting in the way of the rest of us.

You know, that's not the point, the point is what the heck is that thing doing up there?

Good point. I read somewhere that drones are not supposed to fly above 400 feet. Another knee-jerk media reaction was "How safe are you when flying commercial?" I don't see where the airliner was doing anything wrong...and the frequent mention of drones being sucked into jet engines? These are not mylar balloons, they are under power and (supposed) control.
