Airline For Nick

Wow - you mean finally there will be a person/group of people/corporation that doesn't try to make me out to be an evil person because I smoke?

Remember - you can't discriminate against fat people or those that smell bad (I might fit into both categories...heh), but those dang smokers, I tell ya, they're ruining the world!

I hope this airline takes off, and it brings with it the return of smoking areas in airports. I don't mind that I can't smoke on the airplanes, because that is offensive, but seriously, since when is smoking in a room that is completely separated from everyone else imposing on anyone?

And don't get me started on bars.....remember, many non-smokers smoke when they drink....ugh.

SMOKING airlines...?.....yuk....my instructor smoked....sometimes more than other days....esp the early training days....lol... now he's takin a job for the airlines.....should of check this one out first!

All it ever takes in one knucklehead to stand with the door open or decide that he can run from the smoking room to the lav with the cigarette in his hand but somewhat hidden to cause a complaint and an inditment of all smokers. Is it fair, no, does it happen, yes.

Like anything one idiot and a whole group are blammed for his behavior, pilots suffer this too when you have unsafe pilot crash, then we are all branded terrorists or safety hazards and flight restrictions pop up.

Why not?

I never used your smoking to paint you as evil. I used it to paint you as unwise.

As much as I detest smoking I actually rather agree with this, but only because of my upbringing. Bars were always smoky places, it was part of the ambiance.

The new generation will be brought up with smokeless bars, and it won't be part of them ambiance for them. One less place folks go to smoke.

Said with no offense to anyone intended: I'd rather have people smoking on airplanes and force those who don't comfortably fit into a seat to buy an extra seat. Having someone smoking next to me is far less offensive to me than having someone taking up half my seat.

I ended up standing in the back of an airplane for 3/4 of the flight once because I was sharing a row with two 300+ lb individuals. The flight attendants weren't supposed to let me, but when they saw who I was sharing a row with made an exception. Give me someone chain smoking Luckies any day over that.

I'd rather the flesh zepplins. They cause momentary discomfort. Smokers destroy my clothes and give me the gift that keeps on giving, cancer.

X2. I was stuck between two "larger" individuals on a flight back from Seattle. One woman, one man. They ended up falling asleep with both their heads on my shoulders too. Can you imagine? I did the same thing Ted. I went back and hung out with the flight attendants. They were very understanding.

2nd hand smoke is way overblown, (pun intended) IMHO.

That website goes to a swiss consulting firm now, guess the smoking airline idea didn't take off.

I knew one person who's death can be attributed to it.

That said, for the rare instances I'm around it, it really doesn't bother me any. Being around second-hand farts is far more offensive.

It wouldn't let me post to the exact page. So you have to click the menu....far right.

Their explanation is quite interesting.

I would rather have a pair of albino flesh zeppelins fart and vomit on me than experience cigarette smoke. There is a fair likelihood that I will die of cancer due to second hand smoke I suffered as a child, given the proclivities of my family to neoplasia.

I think if this guy partners up with Martin America, they could change the world.
