Judging from the burn marks on the grass, it's a good thing he was "ejected".

The source of that word was probably a responding law enforcement officer who spoke to the journalist. People are “ejected from” vehicles in many road crashes, which forms the basis for law enforcement responses to all kinds of crashes. It’s not nearly as cringeworthy for me as journalists reporting that a jury found someone “guilty” in a civil case.
 
FAA Registry lists this (N550LX) as a Turbo-Prop using a P&W T74-CP-700 engine. Not saying it is related - just interesting and unexpected.
 
Hope for a quick recovery for the pilot.
