I had never heard of this plane before I saw it in the air! EAA requires anyone going up for air-to-air photos attend a briefing, but because everyone is busy, EAA does the brief instead of me and I often never meet the people I do a shoot with. It's also the only time I go up to shoot a plane and have no idea what it is!

This is a really nice looking plane. Sleek lines, beautiful paint job, etc. It's nice to fly with people who love their planes.

I'm also impressed with the editing team. The layout of the story is great and matching the text colors with the plane is a nice touch.

More photos to come.

The Emeraude has always been a good looking all wood plane with nice lines. Somewhat popular in the late 60's and into the 70's, not seen too much anymore.
There were some great examples built over the years, I seem to remember a creme yellow and green one that may have been a grand champion.
Looking forward to more photos.

Thought about buying one of these a couple years ago - as an incomplete project. Decided it was more of a project than I could handle. The seller instead was then going to scrap the project :(, salvage the gear and other bits, and burn the wood pieces.
Now am wondering if I made a mistake? Hindsight . . . . .

So I remember lusting after the Emeraude years ago, but does anybody know what makes this a “Super?”

He says the wing has more leading edge for added strength for the O-320 engine.
