I flew with Josh from Tac Aero in Fredericksburg, TX this weekend. The guy can fly, and the plane was beautiful, so all I had to do is show up and pull the trigger on my camera! We flew around Enchanted Rock, which I love from the ground and from the air.

I've contacted TacAero about getting my tail wheel with them, and I have at least 1 thread in PoA soliciting reviews.

It sounds like you give a thumbs up?

Also, as always, great photos!

Yes, I highly recommend them. Their facility is amazing. Their pilots are talented and friendly. They're based at T82, which is home of the famous Hangar Hotel and Airport Diner, which makes it even better! This flight was with Josh and I've also flown with Kris taking photos of their Waco for an upcoming Plane & Pilot cover.

They have a Gamebird, a Waco UPF-7, Super Cubs, Top Cubs, and a Float Plane. They've also joined up with Scale Wings, so they have a SW-51 Mustang, which are pretty slick looking planes.

When EAA first invited me to join their photo team, I flew out to Oshkosh for the first time and was overwhelmed. One of the things I was taught early on was how to take static photos for the magazines. Erin was in charge at the time, and she taught me to take photos of every little detail. She said Budd Davisson might write about one little detail that makes this airplane different, so make sure you've got the photos to match the story!

I've carried this with me and do this for any magazine I'm shooting for now. I love air-to-air, but sometimes the detail shots are fun too. Here's a few from this shoot.
