Shot this awesome Cessna 185 yesterday. I knew Lake Travis, near Austin, TX, was low, but it may be the lowest I've ever seen. Chance of rain next week... we need it!

I used to spend a lot of time around Lake Travis in the 70s, and I never saw the level so low there was large islands.

I also remember the lake being very, very rural, before all the commercialization.

And I also remember hippie holler before it was a state park, if you know what I mean...

Yeah, we're used to seeing the 'sometimes islands' but there are a lot more this year than I remember in the past. It's Austin though, so the drought will end with a flash flood!

When I first moved here after college, we went to HH. I'd heard amazing stories. It was just a bunch of hairy old men... not what we thought we were going to see!
