Al Benzing shared this with me. Seems at the end of the VN war, CIA wanted to tap some phone lines in NVN. Interesting reading in Air & Space Mag.

BTW, one of two special ops missions I did run during my tour over there, was into Laos for this same reason: tap phone lines; observe troop movements and take pics.

We've been toying with maybe replacing the R44 with a 500 series (probably used). Maybe we can find a 500P and sneak up on people
