The end of the P-3 is fast approaching, the patrol side of the VPwing is no longer employed, and the spookie side of the house is very narrow, the age of most aircraft are well over 40 years. we once had reason to own 480 P3s but no longer we are now down to 140 aircraft all facilities are dropping their capabilities to level 3 repair stations and 1 on each coast is enough.

The name of the game is down sizing, we the tax payer can no longer afford to support the cold war military machine we needed 50 years ago.
