My wife and I are thinking about trying one of the African flying "safaris." Pretty expensive, but we did something similar in New Zealand last year and it was spectacular. (http://flyinn.co.nz/ -- we have no connection with them, just enjoyed the trip.)

Looking for any "been there, done that" recommendations.

TIA

One of the fellas on AvSig and his wife returned about a month ago; third trip. Rented a 172 and went on their own this time: South Africa and Zambia. I'll see if he's be willing to e-mail you if you give me an address to pass on.

Best,

Dave

Well I'll just put in another plug for Matt & Jo's operation. They were wonderful! Are you going to be at the seaplane base on Saturday for the watermelon social? I know Matt was talking to one of the African or Australian operators last year. You might want to drop him a note and get his take on them!

Yup. I will not be there for the gathering but I'm sure I'll see them at their booth. I'll ask.

I may have been wrong about the date of the social. The seaplane base website tends to be updated sporadically, and I saw last year's date.

My friend, John Gaitskill said he would contact you. Neat guy. Been three times with his wife.

Best,

Dave
