Aerocruze 100 G5 Mode

OK, great, the altitude from the G5 syncs to my Aerocruze AP as long as the 'E' is displayed. If enroute using GPS I just flip my ARINC switch over to G5 and I'm good to go...synced. BUT WHAT IF I'M SYNCING BEFORE TAKEOFF? I'm trying to develop a flow but appears at this point that after setting the altimeter setting on my G5 I'm going to have to set field elevation into my Aerocruze. Any easy way to generate the 'E' on my Aerocruze while on the ground?

I don’t know about the “E”, but from how I remember, any time the source is set as the G5 and the auto pilot is on, it should sync the altitude. I don’t remember if it does it even with the auto pilot on or not, but if not, just engage it for a few seconds on the ground and it should sync.

Any easy way to generate the 'E' on my Aerocruze while on the ground?

Yes, flip the switch to G5 mode until the “E” shows us, give it a few seconds to sync with your G5 and it will have current baro. Then flip back over to GPS.
