I note the FAA NexGen map that shows various updates to the NexGen system now shows 8 more ADS-B ground stations installed in western Colorado since the map was last updated July11, 2012. Does anyone know where I can find information on WHERE the stations are, that is, what city or airport? The FAA map is too 'course' to be certain where any specific station might be.

Calling Nate. Here Nate. Good boy, Nate.

Will see if anyone knows... most of the tower/site guys I know are on this side of the Divide. Grand Junction and West are in a different little world over there. :)

John - going to the flyin at AEJ the end of the month? Pancakes & Chili (not necessarily together). If I have working airplane (and weather cooperates) looks like fun.

Mmmm, chili! Wanna ride along Nate? <insert evil grin here>

Pancakes plus chili plus high altitude?

That could become a scene out of Blazing Saddles. ;)

(The actor who played Mongo died this week. RIP. "Mongo only pawn in game of life.")

I have it on the calendar but there's something on there of Karen's that I might need to be at.

She's in "the big push" for Internationals coming up shortly. Go Skyline!

Continuing the extreme tangent to the original posting....what's not to like abut a Mel Brooks movie with Count Basie, Harvey Korman and Madeline Kahn?

answered in PM to minimize the already hijacked thread.

Read the PM. Wow, just wow. Obviously a classic case of "we're right and it doesn't matter if you have a problem with our product".

I know that I'm not risking a purchase from Western Skyways in the future...

As for the thread, the ADS-B sites are likely the WAM sites. They're supposed to be in service this year.

Talked to one of the WAM site guys. He says one site has some complex fancy looking ITT branded gear. Much larger than the WAM gear. Entire cabinets vs. a couple of small weatherproof boxes. With "solid Federal style cabinets and wiring".

Is ITT the ADS-B contractor?

Other sites didn't have the gear this summer, but he hasn't made a Fall inspection on some sites and may not this year.

He shared that the WAM stuff looks to be all dual-headed, redundant gear.

He said he might get a chance to check site lease info to see if any new 900 MHz antennas were added anywhere else. Lots of site swaps and deals going on with T-Mobile right now, so his site list may change significantly by next Spring.

Someone (Ahem Jesse) should set up a Wiki or something like that where we can put in the lat/longs (you can get them out of ForeFlight if you have a Stratus) and plot them on a map or chart.

I've got some to contribute once it's up and running. :D

Someone will decide we're Julian Assange releasing National Security secrets and we'll disappear. Ha. You are not allowed to know where antennas are located. ;)

From what little research I've done,, it looks like ITT has at least part of the contract.

What I've read says that ADS-B was supposed to be activated with the WAM stuff in the southern part of the state this summer. Haven't heard when they're supposed to add it to the WAM sites up north.
