ADS-B past the flight test!

I had the Garmin 345 installed last week, the shop test flew it, but not enough to qualify it for the rebate, so I flew with my son yesterday. He flew and I played instructor, giving him headings and turns to make sure we covered the maneuvering part of the flight. I love it!! The traffic with N numbers, speed, direction and altitude on the 530W and the iPad was really neat!! I like it better than the TCAD I have on the 425! And now I feel a lot better about him out flying with traffic information!

As much as people whine about the cost of ADS-B I think it will be great when everyone has it. Really nice traffic avoidance tool. Works on the ground too!

I flew into Triple Tree for the fly-in last month and it was really helpful.
