On a flight from MD to CA last month, we stopped in Deming, NM for fuel and hotel both ways. Airport manager is very good and he has a van he let us use overnight for the hotel and restaurant. The Adobe Deli was a real pleasure and the food and atmosphere are worth the stop.

Hatch NM has a great restaurant called "The Pepper Pot". If you call before arriving, they'll pick you up at the airport. It's an "old school" town, meaning they want you to fly over the restaurant while inbound to let them know you've arrived ... they want a REAL buzz job even though I informed them we can't due to FAA regs. (Running joke is the GA guys fly over at 1000 AGL and they might not hear you, the AG-Cat guys fly over at 7 feet above roof top and shake shingles).
