New article on the AOPA site - VFR pilots who fly within 60 miles of the DCA VOR must be able to produce a completed training certificate for the online FAA ADIZ course, or suitable seminar after February 9, 2009.

yet another "training" that won't accomplish anything.

Sure it will!

Additional copy for the TV infobabe:

"The pilot of the Cessna airplane -- who had not filed a flight plan with the FAA -- entered the Washington DC Restricted Area. Now, Officials are telling me that the pilot refused to take the mandatory A-Dee-Eye-Zee training, and may likely have his license revoked..."

Took me 20 minutes to complete the "one hour" course, and a few more to print and laminate the card-sized certificate. It's been in my wallet for almost three years now, so I guess I'm well ahead of the game for the Feb 9 2009 requirement date.

>Beats having a TSA inspection every time you fly, comrade

still nothing is accomplished.
