Ad blocker to turn off the site's 'turn off your adblocker' popup

Starting in March several sites I tend to visit have become more aggressive in telling me with a popup screen to turn off my adblocker and allow ads on their site. I have an adblocker for a reason, and I'm not interested in supporting them(so don't ask). In the ever expanding battle against embedded ads, I now am looking for a web browser, or ad blocker that will stop the popup asking me to disable my adblocker and support them by allowing ads.

I use Firefox and Brave. I've fiddled with several settings on both, and so far, no way to block that popup. If someone has a fix, please share. If you have an opinion about my choice to not support ads, I will give it all the attention that it deserves.

Merci d'avance, mon ami :cheerswine:

Don't think I've ever encountered someone who suggested it is somehow wrong to use an ad blocker.

except for the myriad of sites that claim using an ad blocker violates the terms of service (youtube.com comes to mind)

Firefox + uBlock Origin.
I don't have those kinds of issues....
AVweb recently started that nonsense. I haven't read an article since.
I run Firefox with uBlock and I still get those popups. What setting(s) are you using to prevent prevent them?

I mostly vote with my feet. That is, I use Firefox with the noscript plugin and that keeps the ads at bay. I turn off all the default permits for noscipt. I permit scripts for those sites that I actually interact with, like here, my banking places, flight brief and weather, amazon. Those sites usually don't have many or any ads, because they're focused on the transactional relationship I have with them. Other random sites seem cleaner without any scripts, and most work fine. Those that don't, I find another site. It's the internet - just about every company is replaceable with one that's almost the same that you like better.

The one place that this doesn't work is in streaming services. It's the only place where I'm paying for content while also suffering through ads most of the time.

ubo+umatrix = <3

This seems to me to be close to the top of the list of 1st world problems.

Actually I don't see it much, so a few reminders that the ad blocker is on and working are appreciated. It also gives a good indication of who to ignore ...

:) It's true that things like "Indian attack" or "can't find potable water" aren't on my list of things to worry about, but ads are still annoying.

I'm just using the out of the box settings for uBlock-Origin extension. Just went to AvWeb and got no popups or anything suggesting it knew I was running an ad blocker..

OK, I just found something interesting. All the popups are from a place called 'the admiral'.

Here's the inline html that they are pushing:

So, this is the same group on 4 different websites, not just cbsnews. I'm beginning to think it's loaded as a cookie on my machine. I'm going hunting and see if I can find it in my cookies and get rid of it. If not, I'll see if there's a way to nullify it before it launches.

I fixed it. Set an exception to block anything from admiral(several URLs), then cleared cookie cache from both browsers and the popups are gone.

Edit; wow, after unloading 1.2Gb of cookie data from both browsers, it's loading a lot faster. I'm going to have to do this every few months.
