Ad abandonment in videos

As a personal policy, if I don't get the option to skip an ad after a few seconds, I dump the entire page and go find the video somewhere else. It really irritates me when I have data limits I'm being forced into 30 second, I don't care about the product ads.

In addition, the auto play anything really ****es me off along with the "follow me down the page" video box.

I'd rather buy Chicklets and Sprite at the US Mex border than sit through this mess.

I've tried to stop the auto play and it follows me like a 2 year old yanking on my pants box with no success. Anyone know how to effing stop all this?

I get a minor kick out of the irony of some of those chipper ads that preface a tragic video. For example, a Panera sandwich ad with shiny, happy people followed by some sort of news video of death and disaster. I guess advertisers can't always pick n' choose on which videos their ads will play, but I doubt anyone looks at a video about 50 people being shot in a nightclub and then thinking, "Hey, that sandwich sure looked good."
