Hi All,

I'm doing an annual on O-200 engine. There is an AD describing cracks and exchanging the induction airbox if any cracks found. If no cracks are found, the engine goes on a 25 hour recurring inspection requirement. When I read the AD, it seems to apply to only seven O-200A engines or any airbox made after Oct 1991 (yes, there are other model engines) is applicable. Has anyone ever delt with this AD?

You have to read the AD more carefully. The presence nor absence of a stamp is significant. You have to determine if your configuration is applicable. Many air boxes did not have the Teflon feature. So no stamp and a matching configuration makes recurrent inspections mandatory.

TCM CSB 93-13 will provide the criteria to measure the Teflon bushing as part of the identification procedure as well as outlining the inspection procedure.
