Able Flight Announces Four New Scholarship Winners, Including its First Awards to Wounded Veterans
April 10, 2007 (Chapel Hill, NC)
Today, Able Flight announced its latest winners of flight training scholarships for people with disabilities, including two awards to veterans who were wounded during their service in Iraq.
"We are very pleased to announce the selection of Staff Sergeant John Borders, Rob Laurent, Jorge Urrea, and Sean O'Donnell as our newest scholarship recipients," said Able Flight Executive Director Charles Stites. "With our previous winners, we now have made awards to six individuals in the past four months, and by this summer, all will have either begun or completed their training for a pilot's certificate."

Read the rest of the story at www.ableflight.org. I've been working with one of their students and will start another this week. Do any instructors here have any experience teaching students with physical challenges? It's been interesting working out solutions to problems like entry/exit, preflight and weight and balance. Would love to discuss it with others with similar experience.
