Anybody watching A Week in the Life: Inside American Airlines?

It's pretty interesting. Gerard Arpey, the current CEO, thought he would understand running the company better if he knew how to fly, so he got his ticket. Showed him tooling around with the family in an Apache.

So, would you run AA if the salary was $19k/yr?

Sure. Lots of CEOs have salaries for only a $1/year. The bonus situation is usually quite good though, even if they also get a good salary the bonus' are not paltry.

It's just that it has much to do with understanding how to run an airline as being a personal pilot flying around in Apache does. As for running AA for $19k a year, that would depend on the bonus clause in my contract.
