Wonder if they're just adding the type to their fleet and need extra bodies for a while while their personnel go through training?

I was reading somewhere that Hawai'an had to do the same thing when they were planning a new type - they couldn't magically get all their line pilots trained before the A/C arrived so they used short-term contract pilots to operate the aircraft while thier employee pilots cycled through school.
