A toast....

I have flown in Alaska off and on since '98. I have known 21 people that made their last landing in Alaska.

In contrast, I have met only 3 people that made their last landing in the lower 48.

One reason I don't learn names anymore.

Sorry DW. Been a rough couple of months for you as it relates to people you knew.

You've known 24 people who have died in Aviation Accidents? Really? Wow!

I've known three in the last 15 months.

People who have never flown in Alaska do not understand the risk of the job or brotherhood that exists between pilots. It is the most dangerous job in the world.

If you were a caravan pilot for the accident company (I was) your chances were about 1/20 this year. Also consider that they are without a doubt the most safety conscious company in Alaska.

Sorry to hear buddy. It never gets easier. :(

My condolences
