Ah, you're right, Chris. I never heard of the site before, but it's a satire site.

The name of the site is a pun as well which had you realized may have given you a clue.

The Daily Courant is the first newspaper in England published from 1702 to it was merged with another paper in 1735.

That's exactly why I could have bought it as a real story. I can see that happening in real life. I'm unfamiliar with the Daily Currant so it was not clear to me it was a parody until I started scanning the other headlines.
