Nope. They were out of SC I guess. I heard a flyby was going to happen when at the game, I figured some F16s out of Selfrige, but it was a couple Navy planes.

Here's the funny thing about Michigan Stadium. It sits under a 2 mile base leg in Class D airspace - and since you only have to be in contact with ATC to operate in those Div I TFRs, I did see a piston single head over during the game. I was sooooo scared!!!

Years ago I flew to Ann Arbor for a Michigan game with some friends from work. The grass runway was continously in use by a trio of banner towers (I was visiting the tower before the game).

Times have changed...:(

Well, the banner towers were still out - at least 3 of them, and I am pretty sure one of them was there after the one hour cutoff.

Well, now.

There is usually one game each year at which the Texas Air National Guard does a fly-by with -16s, always a treat.

But today.

Hoo-boy, today.

Just after dark, Star Spangled Banner being sung, and a B1B does a low pass, afterburners lit! Four tongues of blue flame in the night sky, and your very chest pulsing from the noise. What a freakin' thrill!

Travis, my friend's kid, says "there goes a jet fighter!" Tommy: "Travis, that's a B1 Lancer, don't you know *anything*?!"

I am so proud of that kid!

There is nothing like spending a saturday in the BIG HOUSE. If you have never been to the Big House it is truly special. GO BLUE.

Regards Mike
