After business and visiting my daughter & SIL in Laramie, I departed Runway 30 winds 330 @ 29 G43. Actually, the winds had died down alittle after a rain squall passed.
.
Solo, I climbed out at 1,200 FPM, then 1,000 FPM to (in between the squawls) FL 15.5 as I headed east. Not bad for a 7,300' elevation runway. Flew through some light snow from the squalls. It's May!
Below are some of the pics and videos I took of the engine monitor and EFIS showing the performance of the RV-10. It is an amazing airplane if I say so myself.
It never gets old flying this baby.
160 knts indicated at FL 15.5. The Cheltons have a HITS ( Highway In The Sky) or the green boxes. Fly through those and it take you to the destination or flying the approach. The auto pilot nails it. The pink diamond on the heading indicator in the destination. It is also in the center of the HITS. The white triangle with the white rectangle below it is the slip indicator.
The Chelton moving map shows a lot of info, winds aloft based on drift, temps, DA, ground speed, true airspeed, and a "Glide Area" based on the flight characteristics of the airplane and current winds. It's the irregular green circle. Inside that area you should be able to glide to if the engine quits, a nice feature. Current ground speed is 191 knts. Nice.
Here is the best part.
191 Knts on 10 GPH..... Mogas
Sorry,
. The Chelton records engine data for down load. The graft below EGT's & CHT's are the last 10 mins of data. Another nice feature to monitor engine health. 17.5" of MP at FL15.5 is nothing to get excited about, but normalizing or a turbo is expensive and not needed with performance, IMHO.
