A new project??

A buck two eighty... :)

I wouldn't take it off their hands for less than $1000. If they try to give you less, walk away.

Seriously, however, do you think it's actually worth the effort? Can you see "potential" in that pile of stuff?

I know where a cozy is in similar condition that you can probably have for free.

Price seems legit with all the extra stuff and engines. Lots of work though

If you can determine that the work quality is there and that most of it is there, including plans.....engines? Well, it may be worth double that if the engines are anything worth having. Too many unknowns here. If I were close by, and inclined for a long ez project I might offer $2k. They won't be getting a lot of people looking advertising on Craigslist for an airplane project.

The seller got back to me last night, 1 aircraft is a wrecked aircraft, and I consider that junk, no telling what is cracked.
The other is a unfinished project ready for filler and sanding.

they have sat 5 years with out any attention, the seller "SAYS" it was given to him with no paper work. He also said the two big boxes of parts are unopened and he doesn't know what is in them, but he has a full set of plans and a builders book on the project.
The engines look to be junk. they are an 0-200 and a C85 taper shaft both are rusty.
He is paying a storage fee and is leaving for the winter to go south, I've made arrangement to see the stuff on sunday.
I'm thinking 500 bucks for the plans and templates. maybe break even on the selling the rest.

I'd offer to remove the crap so he can stop paying storage. Whatever you make off the junk pays your labor.

Hey Tom, if you are looking for another project, I might have one for you in the near future.

I'm not in the market but if it were close by I would be tempted at $2k or less. More than likely once the stuff is organized you would have a very buildable project at well under market value. The messiness of it makes it good for you to make a good deal. I would start low and go no higher than $2k
