Guess it's probably not a good day for a few quick trips around the pattern.

That is pretty much straight down the runway good to go :D

Still pretty calm on the east side. I hope it continues since they are working on the siding and paint. :)

1 minute downwind, 2 minute base, 30 minute final ...

I've done that at BJC. The guys waiting to cross the runway got a little miffed with the controller...had a low approach a few seconds before touching down. It's the only time my instructor actually said anything about doubting the outcome of any of my landings...

If I'm going that way on a cross country,I'm in ,love a good tail wind. Or stay in the pattern and practice hover in a fixed wing.

Once upon a time with the 170-B I landed the Dales OR in the gorge, GPS indicated over the ground speed at 150 on the down wind, base was non existent and the the over the ground speed was 5 miles per hour on final. Once on the runway, I was scared to turn off.

few places where the wind blows like it can in the gorge.

We had winds last night that really banging things around, so we lost power for about 15 minutes around midnight.
