A pilot is celebrating two things this month. First he got his Private pilots license and the 20th they are giving him a party for his 80th birthday. Way to go Jessie. Jessie flys out of Jack Lenhardts airport (7S9) in Hubbard Or. I am real proud to be a friend of his.

I just love dropping stories of octogenarians piloting those 'unsafe' planes on unsuspecting non-pilots. Tell Jessie well done, congratulations, and Happy Birthday.

Sounds like I may have a chance yet, that is if the "SP" instructors can get their act together and come up with "reasonable" fee structures.. and NOT the exorbitant ones they're looking to charge now. A "buck ninety a hour" is too rich for my blood!

It looks like getting a pilots license (let alone owning a plane), is still a "rich man's" game.
