Didn’t expect to see that.

Spring and fall are the seasons of surprises at the farm.

We started off the day with two deer coming close to us in the early morning light while we were in the hot tub. They didn’t know we were quietly stewing in the hot tub sipping our first morning coffee. They suspected something was up, jumped the fence and scampered away.

Found a dead beaver in the middle of the dirt road while on the quest for the missing horse owner. Another unusual animal event.

Finally found the horse owner who was greatly relieved that we sequestered her beloved horse in our pasture with the cattle.

As she rode off, I was thinking: “Can I have a ride?” Ohhhh, maybe she and I could trade rides! We fly right over her house on short final for runway 21. Time to work on "good neighbor" issues. Maybe she would like a ride in the Citabria?

Horse people.... B)
Here's what the horse people lady brought over today to thank us. What a beautiful apple pie! She's interested in flying in the Citabria; it'll be fun taking her flying. I'm interested in becoming a horse people again. Tom doesn't know that yet.

I think it would be a great idea to make friends with her. Maybe she'll forgive my low approaches to your runway.

I had to ride a horse one time (not by choice), it put two huge rosey marks on my butt and it hurt really bad. I'm not a horse person, and by that, I mean that I wish no specific harm to any horse. BTW, some American Indian translation of horse is "the great dog". Hehe, kinda funny.

Over and out!

This sounds like the beginning of a very interesting story. ;)

I'd still like to know the story about the parachute that didn't open.

I think she would probably like it if you would get some smoke ;)

I was in central Mexico, about 30 miles east of Mazatlan. Our jeep took a dump and we couldn't fix it (we couldn't get enuff urine in the radiator). Luckily for us we had a couple "federalese" escorting us due to Mexican rebel problems. Unluckily for us, they decided to leave us. We found a Mexican ranch and a young Mexican rancher. With the money we had hid, we paid for a horse and escort back to Mazatlan (BTW, they don't treat horses very well in Mexico, this poor thing had a curved back and could only walk slow :(, poor thing saved our butts). That is where the rehabilitation of my biscuits began, it took over a week to heal.

I got this on ebay. It was listed in a similar way to my description. I won the auction after many counter bids. I bought it for $98, and re-sold it (I don't have it no more) for around the same. The funny thing is I bought it as part of a Halloween costume.

This is not your typical vacation, is it?

Sooooo, you didn't have it repacked every 120 days? ;)

What is a vacation?
The internet would require TS clearance for me to comment further. Here's a quote for the website, " I could tell you, but I'd have to spin you"

Hehe, I have never ever rigged a chute before. Can't say I'm interested either. Do you have a riggers cert? Where do you get your chute for aerobatics? How much does a rigger charge nowadays?

Don't have the cert...paid $50 for the last repack. I went to all the vendors at OSH last year and tried on all their chutes till I found one that fit the best and ordered it custom made (for short people). I bought the second one, used, from a friend.

She brought her horse by yesterday and left it with me to ride for awhile. I'm taking both of them flying in a few days. Her husband said he runs outside to watch me practice aerobatics every time he hears me up there. Several of our not-too-close neighbors apparently do that too. I have a feeling they probably enjoy your approaches to the runway as well. :)

How you gonna fit a horse in a Citabria? That would be interesting.
LOL! To quote a famous (infamous) California aviator " I could tell you, but I'd have to spin you."

After you take the horsey for a plane ride, you can give him his 1st flight horsey patch.
