Yes, my name is Charlie.
My wife placed a clothing order a few weeks ago, and the order confirmation stated all pieces would be delivered prior to our two week vacation.

As luck would have it, one item from the order was shipped on time and the rest were sent late in three different shipments due to the seller dragging their feet. Those would all arrive while we were away.

I went online and placed a vacation hold with FedEx, but still asked our neighbor to keep an eye out for the delivery, because....FedEx.

Well, we returned home last night and no mail (USPS can be also sketchy with holds) or packages were waiting. And then this morning (Sunday!) a FedEx truck pulls up and delivers all three. As an added bonus, the driver placed them all INSIDE the porch instead of outside on the front steps!

I think this might be a sign of the apocalypse!

To put things back in perspective, I had a package I had to sign for supposed to arrive three times and didn’t make it until the 4th. Like I can sit at home for four days waiting for a package. They gave me a 3 hour window 4 times and just kept sending a new email instead of delivering the package.

Sounds about right and got the missed delivery exception email saying you weren’t home to call to reschedule the delivery when you were in the freaking kitchen waiting for the dang package.

Then you run outside to grab the driver and he’s burning rubber like a 14 year old with a fresh drivers permit and dad’s corvette.

No. I was home the whole time. The package never made it to my house until after the 4th email.

Do you mind if I use your thread to vent on UPS?

I ordered two Iphones and an Ipad from T-Mobile. They were shipped 2-day guaranteed. I was going to be out of town so I had them shipped to the local UPS store.
THREE days later, on my drive home I got an email that they were delivered to the store.
The next morning I went to the UPS store and they knew nothing about it. After much research they determined they were delivered to a third party business in another City, but they knew nothing about it so they declined them and had them sent back T-Mobile said I should receive a credit in a day or two when they were received back. that was 5 days ago and not credit yet.

I don't blame T-Mobile because the tracking numbers clearly showed they were sent to the correct UPS store. But the detailed tracking showed them delivered elsewhere.

I once had a signature-required delivery come to my house via Fedex and arrive at the same time a friend was leaving. The driver approached her as she was getting into her car on the street in front of my house (he arrived after she exited, so didn't see her exit), and asked if she would sign for the package. She said, "I don't live here." He said, "That's OK as long as you are over 21 and have ID." She said, "I. Don't. Live. Here." He still tried to get her to take the package until she finally just said no way and got in her car.

The good news is that Fedex has a chance to redeem themselves and reclaim their well earned reputation.

The Mrs. forgot to grab her jacket off the back seat of the rental car when we returned it at MCO, and I missed it too as I unloaded the bags. The lost & found section of Budget's website worked great and they are, for a nominal fee, shipping the jacket home using....FedEx.

Ordered a computer memory card from best Buy, free shipping.

Arrived UPS this morning

I've had FedEx, on multiple occasions, fail to deliver packages on Fridays at one of my offices. That office closes at 12:30-1:00 on Fridays. I will see an entry in the system, when tracking the package, that a delivery exception was noted, "unable to deliver because office is closed". This will usually be entered before 10:00am when there are at least 8-10 staff member's and a half dozen patient's cars in the parking lot. When I call customer service, I only get 'Sorry, will deliver next business day'. It has been about a year since that has happened only because I refuse to use FedEx again.

If I refused to ever use a shipping company again because of a few screw-ups, I'd be driving to pick things up. They have all had their "moments".

This was waaaaaay more than a few. They are my shipper only if there are no other options.

Last fall I ordered a new phone from T-Mobile. It shipped the next day. A week later, no phone and UPS tracking shows NO INFO. I called UPS and even they had no idea where the phone was.

So I called T-Mobile. I had to wait a day and call back to get it declared lost and a new one shipped. Of course, now on back order. But a bit over a week later, I get my phone.

About a month after the first phone was shipped, it shows up. REALLY?

Not FedEx but USPS. I mailed a certified letter from MA to Florence SC. Per the tracking it proceeded normally to Columbia SC. After it was sitting there for 8 days I filed a complaint. They sent the complaint to the Florence SC Post Office and 6 days later they closed the case because tracking shows the letter is in Columbia SC. I filed another complaint, and after tracking shows the letter has been in Columbia SC for 18 days the Postal Service closed the case by saying sorry but we lost the letter.

I had a guy ship me a package - Ft. Collins, CO to Omaha, NE. Tracking showed it going from Ft Colins -> Denver -> Omaha -> ABQ -> Omaha. Week and a half with the detour. OK, probably just a fluke, that happens occasionally. Then on Friday I ordered a new fuel pump from Van's in Aurora, OR. PO says it was to be delivered here (Omaha) today. Tracking shows Aurora -> Portland -> In transit -> Expected delivery in Aurora, OR tomorrow. Then an hour later it's just "In transit". Anybody want to put any money on where and when it turns up? It would be entertaining to watch if we weren't AOG. At least it's been too windy to fly the past few days.

FedEx has me tied up currently. Broke my tractor last weekend. Ordered the part first thing Tuesday, same day shipping from the vendor, 2 day delivery via FedEx. Part left PA on Tuesday, got held a day in Indiana, then made it to Chicago early Thursday AM, the day it should have been delivered. Then things went off the rails. The label was damaged and replaced they said. That was the last the tracking showed, until now, Saturday evening. It suddenly appeared in Billings, Montana! Not sure how Montana fits in the routing from PA, to IL, to IA.

Neither FEDEX or UPS are any bargain around here. I've had incessant problems with both. There are a few shining spots. The FEDEX guy and my wife chatted it up one day so if wine shows up requiring a signature, he just leaves it. The local UPS office gave me their direct number after the last fiasco so I can inquire with them directly (a packge due by 5 recently didn't show up until 9PM). My biggest complaint is that while I am not too far from the UPS distribution center in the area, their routing always puts me on the END of the delivery schedule (they hit up some of the commercial locations nearby in the morning).

I really got peeved when I bought my new camera and it came signature required. I'm sitting at home waiting for the guy and I get a text saying they had attempted a delivery. Sure enough I watched the ring camera. The idiot tapped on the front door (this is a 7000+ sf house) and stuck the door tag there without ringing the doorbell. *#&$#)@ No talking to the FEDEX dweebs could make him comeback. I redirected it to the Dollar Store down the street for the next day (which gets it to me earlier).

I had a $2800 rifle scope shipped via fedex several years ago, signature required. Got it shipped to the crew house because there are always people there. Out for delivery……delivered. No signature. Couldn’t be found anywhere. Called Fedex and said WTF, they said it was delivered and told me to pound sand. What about the signature I asked? “Not my problem” was essentially the answer that I got.

So now I’m out a $2800 riflescope; then about 6 months later a box arrives at the crew house “Hey David, there’s a box here for you.” Huh. I hadn’t ordered anything. Lo and behold there was my eurooptic box with my scope in it.

I’m not surprised they’re going out of business.

Sadly you only have three choices for shipping in the US, USPS, UPS, and Fedex. All are equally bad. And most of the time the vendor only gives 1, maybe 2 options for shipping. In my case I could pay $200 for 2 day shipping or $1,000 for overnight. At this point the overnight would have cost me less due to downtime, if it had even made it. 2 day was a tolerable amount of downtime, a week is costing money, and Fedex has made little to no effort to find and delivery the part. When questioned, they just give the scripted answer "Sometimes, shipments may pass through multiple stations due to logistical routing and network optimization." As if Montana is a logical station choice between Pennsylvania and Iowa. Just admit you screwed up, and fix it!

And now they've lost it again...

Fedex strikes again. This time shipping a perishable food basket to my dad for father's day. 2 day guarantee, delivery now anticipated on day 7, if it doesn't get bounced between several different sorting centers again.

I guess so much for "The World on Time".

I had a two day UPS shipment full of fish go on a tour of the midwest once. Fortunately, the shipper promptly reshipped it. I did get a box full of rotting fish with all the dry ice evaporated to dispose of.

The humorous one is that I hada priority mail package coming from Las Vegas once. It got to about St. Louis and then popped up in Honolulu. I pointed it out to the shipper and we watched in amusement as it made its way back to the mainland and then back to the east coast. Fortunately, it wasn't anything perishable.

Following up on this, they did finally deliver the package to dad, 8 days for 2 Day Air. The package was ruined, as the ice packs were only rated for 5 days.

The vendor immediately turned around and shipped a replacement, again FedEx 2 Day Air. Tracking shows it following the same incorrect routing, guessing we will have the same result. @Half Fast I did email Brie Carere, but I don't know if it will do any good.

FedEx is a broken company. They have to be losing money having to reship packages all over the country. I've had three different 2 Day Air packages take 7+ days to deliver just in the last month. I will not be shipping with FedEx in the future.
